Italy: free access to museums and archaeological parks, the dates
On 26 December 2022, 1 and 2 January 2023, citizens and tourists will be able to visit state-owned museums and archaeological parks that will remain open extraordinarily for the holidays.
On New Year’s Day, moreover, #domenicalmuseo will return, the Ministry of Culture’s initiative that allows free admission, every first Sunday of the month, to state museums and archaeological parks. Visits will take place during the usual opening hours, by reservation where foreseen. During 2022, 1,879,597 visits were recorded.
“On traditionally off days for places of culture, the Ministry offers everyone the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Italy’s artistic heritage. I would like to thank the MiC staff involved in guaranteeing these extraordinary openings, especially on the first Sunday of January, New Year’s Day, when museums and archaeological parks will be open to visitors free of charge,” says Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano.
