Verona, October 2021 – Fieracavalli gallops towards its 123rd edition. The most important international exhibition dedicated to the equestrian world returns to VeronaFiere with a new format over two consecutive weekends in November: from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 and from Friday 12 to Sunday 14.

At the fair there will be 3,000 horses of 60 breeds from all over the world, 300 exhibiting companies from over 10 countries with buyers arriving from 18 nations thanks to incoming programs in collaboration with ICE-Agenzia. And then 35 breeding associations, more than 200 events including sports competitions, exhibitions and conventions, 8 pavilions and outdoor areas to visit and 5 competition fields, plus 3 rings for tests and warm-ups for pairs.

The new edition of Fieracavalli was presented this morning at Veronafiere by Federico Sboarina, mayor of Verona, Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere, Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of Veronafiere and Armando Di Ruzza, event manager of Fieracavalli. Also speaking were Francesco Battistoni, Undersecretary of State for Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies, Marco Di Paola, president FISE, Riccardo Boricchi, event director Jumping Verona, Giuseppe Perrone, EY Emeia Blockchain leader, Emanuele Anchisi, Co-founder Scuderia 1918 and Jonathan Sitzia, Ceo Cavalleria Toscana.

“Fieracavalli, after the digital switch in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year returns in presence, with a format of more than 200 events involving two weekends for the first time – commented Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere -. During the lockdown, we had to deal with both the economic and financial implications, and the design challenge that invested the concept of returning to ‘doing fair’ in total safety. In this phase, everyone feels a strong need to find themselves and Fieracavalli feels this responsibility, with the task of reuniting the community of professionals, sportsmen and enthusiasts in the equestrian world, to start once again all together”.

“This year Fieracavalli is doubling – explained Giovanni Mantovani, Director General of VeronaFiere – The new format over two weekends has been carefully studied to offer maximum safety to all participants, from sector operators to the more general public. In fact, access to the exhibition has been restricted, with a maximum number of visitors per day set to guarantee each person 4 square metres, in accordance with international health regulations. A solution that allows our public to organize and book their visit online, in complete comfort and in compliance with all anti-Covid regulations”.

SPORT. On a sporting level, the most eagerly awaited appointments include the twentieth edition of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™, scheduled for the first weekend of the event (4-7 November), as well as the finals of the two Fieracavalli-branded national competitions: the Italian Champions Tour and the GP 123×123. This year will also see the debut of the TOP Team competition, where the most famous pairs from Scuderia 1918 and riders selected by Jumping Verona will compete for charity. During the second weekend (12-14 November), Hall 3 will host the American Stud with the Team Penning and Ranch Sorting competitions.

BREEDING WORLD. In this 123rd edition, Fieracavalli will once again dedicate ample space to the Exhibition of Italian Breeds, bearing witness to the richness of Italian breeding, with aptitude tests and exhibitions in collaboration with AIA and ANAREAI and under the patronage of MIPAAF. The Arabian Thoroughbred is instead the protagonist of the European Competition and the B International Show, international events that aim to develop relationships and business opportunities related to this breed. The Italian Saddle Horse, the excellence of Italy at European level, will be the focus of the Breeders’ Circuit Final with the finals of the “Free Jumping”, “Obedience and gaits” and “Morpho-behavioural Circuit” categories, in collaboration with MIPAAF. Absolute preview of Verona Auction: the international onsite and online auction reserved for the Italian Saddle in collaboration with Equinia, a transalpine company specialized in this sector and accredited worldwide. Finally, the Iberian Horse Show will host about 100 examples of horses including PRE, Lusitani, Hispano Arabi, the protagonists of the Iberian show, as well as Frisoni horses.

RIDING TOURISM. During the two weekends of Fieracavalli, tourism on horseback – slow, sustainable and in contact with nature – is the protagonist of Hall 4. In the AGSM AIM Forum “Il viaggio che cambia” (“The changing journey”) area, interviews, meetings and round tables will be held to highlight the beauty of Italy to be discovered from the saddle.
FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT. In the Family Area of pavilion 1, there will be games and artistic-didactic workshops for children, organized by Art&Cavallo and Asineria Asini di Reggio Emilia. In Area A, the youngest can experience the emotion of the Baptism of the saddle, climbing on a horse for the first time thanks to the specialized staff of Horse Valley Corte Molon.

DIGITAL TRANSITION. There are several activities that show how the fair is preparing for a new model of entertainment between virtual and real. The first ever Jumping Verona NFTs, created in collaboration with EY Italia, will allow fans to collect real digital objects certified by Blockchain Polygon, as well as gain exclusive access to the Jumping World Cup. There will also be the debut of the first hybrid stand in Hall 7 with Cavalleria Toscana, which has several new features and content between digital and physical to entertain, inform and engage its users and visitors. Last but not least, the novelties at Scuderia 1918, which this year will be flanking the great physical novelty of Top Team with two innovative digital projects: the first Fan Tokens of the riders in the stable and the metaverse dedicated to the equestrian world.

ART&CAVAL. The third edition of the contemporary art exhibition with an equestrian theme featuring international artists, conceived by architect Federica Crestani, will be held in Hall 2.

SUSTAINABILITY. In order to reduce the environmental impact of transporting the 3,000 horses present at the fair, Fieracavalli has confirmed once again for this edition the agreement with ALIS, the Sustainable Intermodal Logistics Association. Thanks to the combination of different modes of goods transport, it is estimated that CO2 emissions can be reduced by between 40% and 60% compared to transport by road alone.

SAFETY. In accordance with the decree-law of 23 July 2021, access to the exhibition centre will require a Green Pass or a negative swab within the previous 48 hours. Veronafiere has also adopted a specific Safetybusiness protocol with advanced anti-covid prevention measures, including thermal scanners at gates, access restriction, rapid swab point, electronic tickets, and sanitization of environments.
