Italy best tourist destination of 2021: is the prize awarded by the Spanish section of the International Federation of Journalists and Writers of Tourism (FIJET) delivered to the Ambassador of Italy in Spain, Riccardo Guariglia, by delegation of the Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia. The award ceremony took place last May 20 in a meeting at the Embassy.
Italy has been chosen this year for the peculiarity of its cities “where music, gastronomy, art and the simple pleasure of living merge”. It is a recognition that, for the Ambassador, represents “a beautiful sign of hope for our tourism”.
In thanking, therefore, for the award, Ambassador Guariglia expressed pride for the designation of Italy as the best tourist destination, especially at a time when the entire tourism industry needs a strong revival and also stressed the determined and convinced commitment of the Italian Government to support a crucial sector of the economy, so hard hit by the pandemic.
Every year, the Spanish FIJET presents 5 awards in the following categories: best tourist destination, best hotel chain in Spain, best Spanish city, best hotel and best wine route. FIJET, which brings together professionals who work with communication in the tourism sector, is based in Lyon and is present in 35 countries. Created in 1954, it is an advisory body to the World Tourism Organization (WTO).
