Walking among the olive trees 2019, a trip to the green country

Sunday, October 27 with the Oil Cities and itineraries in the landscapes of Italy
This year the event is recommended by the Olive Roads of the Council of Europe

Italy – They have responded to the appeal and more than one hundred cities will give life to the third edition of the Walk among the Olive Trees. The appointment is set for Sunday, October 27 among hills, paths, terraces and charming villages. Together with the National Association of Oil Cities, we will be on our way to discover new itineraries and new suggestive walks in the Italy of extra virgin olive oil and also to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Oil Cities.
And just in the year of this important anniversary, the Walk among the Olive Trees has obtained a prestigious recognition from the Foundation The Routes of the Olive Tree based in Kalamata, Greece: the honorary prize recommended by the Roads of the Olive tree of the Council of Europe. It is the beginning of a collaboration aimed at joint initiatives aimed at promoting the culture of the olive tree in the Mediterranean.

“The Olive Walk is an event that continues to surprise for its ability to involve thousands of people, demonstrating that olive oil tourism is a strategic asset of our local economies,” said Enrico Lupi, president of the Oil Cities.

Each municipality has got back to work and has selected a route among the olive trees with unique historical and environmental characteristics and for the third time from Trentino to Sicily there will be many opportunities to walk surrounded by the picturesque landscape of olive trees, with events dedicated to families and enthusiasts, through landscapes linked to the history and culture of green gold.

The National Association of Oil Cities, with its over 320 members all public bodies (Municipalities, Provinces, Chamber of Commerce, Parks and LAGs) protects the olive-growing area and fights for the enhancement of landscapes and for the inclusion of olive-growing areas in the prestigious National Register of Historical Rural Landscapes of the Ministry of Agriculture.
