Italy. Nemi protagonist with Borgo Divino from 17 to 19 May

Three days of events and thematic appointments to toast to the spring, waiting for the 86th Festival of Strawberries in Nemi on June 2. The fifty good reasons to choose Nemi as a good place to drink

Nemi (Rome) Italy – The city of Nemi dresses up. From 17 to 19 May, the historic center of the small village a few kilometers from Rome will host Borgo DiVino, the successful wine festival – now in its fifth edition – organized by CastelliExperience in collaboration with the City of Nemi.
Born with the idea of offering an opportunity for visibility to the cellars of the Castelli Romani, the event has been an important public success since the first edition, growing and enriching from year to year and establishing itself as the leading event in the sector in the Lazio Region.

The wine offer will be divided into 6 macro-thematic areas, which will make the tasting path a real sensory experience through many of the Italian excellences: Castelli Romani and Lazio, Colline Toscane, Calici di Calabria, Artigiani del vino, Bollicine, Produzioni naturali.

A specific space will also be dedicated to Top Wines, an ideal reference to the excellence of Italian wine production, which in 2018, according to ISTAT data, reached a production of 52.9 million hectoliters, up sharply from 46.1 million in 2017 and the second highest level in the last decade, after 54.1 million in 2016.

To better appreciate the glasses in Borgo DiVino, on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May the historic center will host Master Classes with expert sommeliers who will offer tasting sessions dedicated to the award-winning wines of Italy and the issues of Organic and Biodynamic.

There is also space for gastronomy, with the meeting between local products (and not only) and Italian wines, which have always been the protagonists of the event. A real curiosity of #BorgoDiVino5 will be the Sushi area on the terrace, where Japanese tradition meets the best goblets in Italy. A combination that “smells of novelty” in search of an ideal connection between the vineyards of the Bel Paese and the dishes of the Rising Sun.

Not only tastings. During the three days of the event, Nemi and its beautiful old town, Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, will allow you to discover corners and unique views, overlooking the picturesque “Mirror of Diana”. There will also be a lot of related content, from art to entertainment, for a weekend of really…wine!
