Venice – Masks, “lunar” shows, music, acrobatic shows. The glamorous event of the Venice Carnival 2019 has started: the Lunatic Dinner Ball. In the prestigious historical headquarters of the Venice Casino, Cà Vendramin Calergi, illuminated for the occasion by the dynamic video projections of DrawLight, the official party of the Venice Carnival 2019 is held. An event curated by Marco Maccapani, artistic director of the event.

A refined and exclusive gala immersed in the magical atmosphere of the rooms on the piano nobile of the sixteenth-century palace overlooking the Grand Canal. Thanks to the combination of the artistic performances of the Nuart company, the costumes of the Atelier Pietro Longhi and the installations of Massimo Checchetto, set designer of the Teatro La Fenice, a fascinating mix is created between the Venetian eighteenth century, “spatial” suggestions and cyberpunk incursions. A journey out of time in the sign of the moon, inspiring dreams and extravagances, changing and iridescent, the leitmotif of the 2019 edition of the Venetian kermesse.

The visual seductions are flanked by those of the palate, thanks to the refined gourmet menu created for the occasion by the chefs of the Richard Wagner restaurant. Introduced by an aperitif with mini buns in various variations, “cicheti”, finger food, the dinner features traditional Venetian dishes revisited. Among these, sea bass risotto, prawns and rocket and turbot fillet au gratin with basil and yellow cherries, taggiasca and capers, while among the desserts, Bavarian with white chocolate and blueberries, with the scent of Tonka beans and passion fruit cream in addition to the symbols of the Venetian carnival such as pancakes and galani. All washed down with Prosecco DOC from the Consorzio di Tutela and wines from selected and prestigious labels from the Veneto region.

At the end of the dinner, a DJ set with the musical selections of the international DJ Oyadi while those who want to experience the thrill of the game can try their luck by accessing the tables.

The event, which sold out on the opening night, after the first weekend will be held, starting at 21.00, from Fat Thursday, February 28 to Fat Tuesday, March 5.
