The night of the lit stills

After having crossed the entire provincial territory, enhancing, from time to time, its wine products of reference, the Trentinowinefest stop in the Valley of the Lakes to celebrate the Trentino artisan schnapps.

Italy – Why is Trentino artisanal grappa known and loved all over the world? What makes it so special? What are the secrets of its production? These and many other questions will be answered by the Koinè theatre company, with the extraordinary participation of the famous conductor Patrizio Roversi, during the next edition of La notte degli alambicchi accesi, scheduled in Santa Massenza di Vallelaghi (TN) from 7 to 9 December.

Three days, for a total of five shows (Friday, December 7 at 17:00 and 21:00, Saturday, December 8 at 17:00 and 21:00 or Sunday, December 9 at 17.00*), wanted and organized by the cultural association “Santa Massenza piccola Nizza de Trent”, with the collaboration of the APT Trento, Monte Bondone, Valle dei Laghi and Istituto Tutela Grappa del Trentino and the support of the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino, as part of the coordination of provincial wine events called #trentinowinefest.

A tradition that has been repeated for over ten years, strongly awaited and participated both by the local population and by fans and curious people from outside the region, which provides a dynamic and engaging traveling show in which, step by step, guests will be accompanied to visit the distilleries of this small and picturesque village located at the beginning of the Valley of Lakes, namely Distilleria Casimiro, Distilleria Francesco, Distilleria Giovanni Poli, Distilleria Giulio & Mauro and Maxentia. At each stop, the actors will stage an episode aimed at highlighting the history and aspects of this product made only with local pomace and whose distillation, strictly “a bain-marie”, has been handed down over the years from parents to children.

An experience that, in addition to making the Trentino artisan grappa known and appreciated, will allow its extraordinary organoleptic characteristics to be appreciated, capable of conquering more and more admirers and admirers all over the world. Just think that in Trentino is produced 10% of the national total and that more and more are the contaminations that see it as the protagonist: in the world of mixology, used in new cocktails, or as an unexpected ingredient in culinary preparations, to name but a few examples.

From a local product relegated to home consumption, therefore, to specialities of great appeal to be explored at 360°. For this reason, the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino (Trentino Wine and Flavours Route) suggests combining participation in La notte degli alambicchi accesi (The Night of the Lighted Stills) with the proposed holiday “Alambicchi e castelli” (Stills and Castles), two or more days to spend among distilleries and tastings through Trentino with guided tours in some of its most representative manors.
