A journey in the saddle to Italy between tradition, culture and territory

Fieracavalli goes beyond its borders, inaugurating the first stage of Summer Tour, in Sicily, on 30 June. The tour then continues with Lazio, at the Atina equestrian centre from 20th to 22nd July. Other events are being defined in Grosseto and then in Puglia, Calabria, Emilia Romagna and Sardinia.

Verona, 28th June 2018 – Fieracavalli, the reference event on the international equestrian scene, is launching its 120th edition (Veronafiere, 25th-28th October) the new Fieracavalli Summer Tour. A series of events, in different regions of Italy, dedicated to horses in their role as ambassadors of culture and traditions. First stop on June 30 in Sicily, at the Mediterranean Racecourse in Syracuse, with the presentation of the 120th Fieracavalli, during the Premio Nastro d’Oro.

We then move to Lazio, to Atina, in the Comino Valley, from 20 to 22 July 2018. The city of Verona has been linked to these places since the Lombards brought a branch of Veronese vine to Ciociaria, characterising its landscape.

For this reason and for the value of the Valley in the equestrian tourism sector, Fieracavalli has decided to organize Fieracavalli Summer Tour Valle di Comino, in collaboration with the Associazione Ippica Atina and the XIV Comunità montana Valle di Comino.

Three days dedicated to the natural affinity between man, territory and horse, told through the rediscovery of the historic centers and nature trails, food and wine, not to mention musical and cultural entertainment for the whole family. As in Fieracavalli there are different souls, also in Atina there is space for sporting competitions on the saddle – such as the Gimkana Western, the attacks and the jumping obstacles – and for equestrian tourism, thanks to Cominii Vallem Explora that offers a trekking route on horseback for three days from Alvito, in the Abruzzo national park, up to the equestrian center of Atina.

Also on stage will be Orgoglio Buttero, a competition created together with the Roman Carnival to enhance the equestrian traditions of the Maremma with a series of exhibitions and shows that assess skill, technique and harness. The best binomi have the opportunity to perform in the closing Gala of the Fieracavalli Summer Tour Valle di Comino and to be protagonists also during the 120th edition of Fieracavalli, in October in Verona.

The other stages of the Summer Tour that are being defined are scheduled in Grosseto and then in Puglia, Calabria, Emilia Romagna and Sardinia.
